I need a break
Not a big break
Just to figure what went wrong
Kill the compass
It’s pointless
I’ve been lost for so damn long
I need a break
Not a big break
The glory of a mixtape
You used to love me when I was young
we were wide-eyed in the moonlight
Then blind to the morning sun
So here I be on an empty road
There’s no hikers on the interstate
There’s a curse in reflection
A crooked smile is never straight
Eye the window
Heed the storm
The wind is rapping at the front door
Lone man, soul man
I’m not pacing no worried floor
You know there’s endings
And there’s beginnings
They draw blood from the same old vein
Forget to remember
There’s no love without pain
Fill my pockets
Full of woe
But we need something to get up for
Crack the code
Reveal the sequence
We end up fighting the same old war
Demure cavalier
Commandeer the muscle of a bold heart
Lone man, soul man
But the engine’s cool to a fresh start baby

The instrumentation and songwriting in this album is really top-tier. Aofie is one of my favorite folk/alt-country artists and she performs wonderfully, bringing her unique tone of voice to this project. This album was my first step into Aofie's artistry, and is firmly one of my favorite albums. rileyridgway
